Plant Lady is the New Cat Lady

With the intent of taking home a small Swiss cheese plant (Monstera deliciosa) or a fiddle-leaf fig (Ficus lyrata), I visited The Plant Foundry. This local, hip, urban nursery was so dang cute, I wanted to take home every plant and knick knack. As expected from a small, local business, the selection was meager and pricey.

Unsatisfied, I went to Green Acres, which is a chain of nurseries in the Sacramento area. The houseplant selection was 10/10, would recommend. My favorite display was this wooden pallet filled with all sorts of bromeliads 🍍🍍🍍.

I found the ficus of my dreams, but I knew the minimal natural lighting in my room was not enough to sustain it. Someday, someday, someday.

I left the nursery with a viney, lush, pothos plant (Epipremnum aureum). I’d seen these plants everywhere, but never knew their name until today. Pothos plants are also called the Devil’s Ivy. Turns out they are basically the hardiest and most foolproof houseplants. Also turns out that my mom used to have one, but got rid of it because they grow faster than you can tame them. Can’t wait.

Tell me what you think!
